German Navy 1914-1918

Post by Trommelfeuer » 26 Apr 2003 02:51

I own the book "Unsere Marine im Weltkrieg 1914-1918"
It was published by "Vaterländischer Verlag Berlin" in 1927...completly written in "old german letters", contains lots of photos / paintings of warships, submarines, planes, soldiers, maps on 490 pages....a great book! (...weight: 3kg...)

I'd like to know what it's worth....
(...not that I would ever sell it, I'd just like to know...)

With friendly greetings, Sven.

P.S. I'll post some more photos tomorrow.

It's worth $20.00.. I'll send you a check!

Seriously, looks like a neat find there. Has it been in your family for years, or did you manage to find it someplace? There must be a local antiquarian book dealer in Hamburg who could place a reasonable value on it. Have you tried this way?

Thank you for your answers gentlemen!

@ Beowulf : It's in my family for years, my grandfather gave it to me as a present 15 years ago...my digital cam is a new one...
(I'll ask some local antiquarian book dealer one day, thanks for the tip! )

@ dead-cat : The book you found on e-bay is a 2nd edition-1928, mine is one of the first edition-1927. :-)
(I tried to find the book in the net yesterday, unfortunately I didn't check e-bay..)

I'd like to share some photos with you..

P.S. The pages of my book aren't that grey as in the posted photos here...
