Thanks for the answer. I don't think is La Spezia, in background there is a old french warship, I think we should be in Toulon or Brest.

Confused now as U 602 is not listed as having emblem!
Pikap please explain your thinking as why you id as U 602

I saw this emblem in two different sources

The first one is Korrekturen und Ergänzungen von Georg Högel und Walter Storbeck zu dem Buch, page 30

I agree this is not La Spezia in December 1942, but Toulon in March 1943

@Pikap,yes i have the same pictures to give this boat a positive ID.

Agree,U 602 was the first U-boat that arrived in Toulon Harbour on 09-03-1943 for a major refit.

The emblem of U 602 and U 672 are pigs, but not the same.
U 672 emblem is visible on the cap of Ulf Lawaetz, commander of the U 672.
