Hi Urs,

sorry to say, but that person is Riedel. Werner is the second to the left of Siegmann in the backrow. Hard to believe, but he always stood somewhat aside on the official photographs taken on this day. The LI Friedrich is on the extreme left.

Hi Nobby,
this boat has no wind deflector at all during the commissioning ceremony. U 455 has different little vents below the CT, and U 455 commissioned with flowers on the CT railings. So my best guess, this is the U 451, and maybe Hoffmann shaved his beard for the ceremony.

no need to compare, because it is U 97. U 552 was correct, so no replies. Spring came along today, so all happy here.

U 97 is correct, I can confirm that.I only have a photo of the commissioning U 97 (see attachment)
