Re: Panther glacis quality
Interestingly there are photos of two of these Panthers the first is 152158 better known as 244./Pz.Rgt 6
All the photos I have are prior to the range testing shown by Miles
The second is of 210750 also known as 124./Pz.Rgt 3
This is shown after its range testing
There are however a few problems with this one that I have not been able to resolve
Primary among these is that 210750 by Tom Jentz from P.60 GPT should date to on or about 13 Feb 44
The date is correct for shipments to I./Pz.Rgt 3 the last of which is 28 Feb by Martin Block
But clearly this is a slot not a Kugelblende on the glacis
I have some with a slot and the TzF 12a gunsight with the single hole and one Panther issued to I./Pz.Rgt 6 that has a slot and no pistol ports
The deletion for the pistol ports appears to be mid Dec but you get a slot to Feb 44 is still one I have not worked out
Cheers Neill
