Esteemed forum colleagues;

On 17 January 1919, a small Estonian-Finnish amphibious landing force was landed near the (Estonian) village of Utria. Their goals were to reach/liberate the towns of Narva-Jõesuu (Hungerburg) and Narva from Soviet control. A Red Army (Soviet) armored train was at the time of the landings, parked on a railway track near the village of Mereküla. This Soviet armored train spotted the Estonian amphib force landing fleet and engaged it in an artillery duel with at least two Estonian naval vessels - the destroyer "Lennuk" and the tender "Laene" (also spelled "Laine"). In the end, the Soviet armored train retreated back towards Auvere, to avoid being hit by increasingly accurate Estonian shell fire.

I'd very much like help with the following questions then:

- Which specific Soviet armored train was the one involved in this artillery duel?
- What size (artillery/naval) guns were used on this armored train (Schneider-Canet barrels?)
- What other Soviet armored trains were, at this time, also based in or near Narva (they were on the tracks inside Estonia)?

If one can identify the specific armored trains, I think from there, one can also obtain the needed data re locomotive, armament and wagons allotments.

Thank you kindly in advance for any/all assistance efforts.

Regards;

Arvo L. V.
