AOK 17 has been updated according to the KTB (thanks to John "Histan" for the hint). We now have a gap between Boriß and Schulz. I would assume that Schwatlo-Gesterding managed affairs in mid-July, but there may have been even another interim manager.

Apparently, a whole bunch of new KTB has been added to "German Docs in Russia". So far, new info has been added to:

HGr A
HGr B
HGr Nord
HGr Kurland
AOK 12
AOK 16
AOK 17
AOK 25

Oberbefehlshaber 7. Armee

Post by HM » 27 Jun 2020 11:47

„KTB“ Pz. AOK 5 entry 31.08.1944:

„Der O.B. der 7. Armee, General Eberbach, …, gerät in Gefangenschaft. … Armee.“

Entry German High Commanders of WW2:
22.08.1944 – 31.08.1944 General der Panzertruppe Heinrich Eberbach (mFb)
31.08.1944 – 01.09.1944 General der Infanterie Hans von Obstfelder (mstFb)
01.09.1944 – 21.02.1945 General der Panzertruppe Erich Brandenberger (mFb)

Any official documents that von Obstfelder was put in charge on the 31.08?

HM.

As it seems, Obstfelder was mstFb for five minutes ... No, seriously, HM is obviously right. I will change the list at once.

Gentlemen
I don' t understand, from biograph. sources and unit histories Eberbach 29.8 Kgf. and Brandenberger 29.8 mFb. I' m really puzzled.....
Could it be that the change was registered later (31.8) but it occurred earlier (29.8) ?
Rgds.
P.S. Until when was Dietrich supposed to have been in command (i.V., zgl.) ?

I don't know to which sources you are referring, but for me the date of Eberbach's capture was never in question. Of course, it is confirmed by all relevant KTBs. Brandenberger took over on 1 September, just as this thread says on page 22.

I posted updates and corrections for:

Flottenkommando
Marinegruppenkommando Ost
Heeresgruppe Nord
AOK 15
AOK 16

The biggest news is that Lindemann was mstFb HGr Nord in October 1943. If somebody is able to support a begin date, please come forward.
