I found a note on Dietl's Urlaub in October 1942, but no info in the AOK KTB. I don't have the KTB of XVIII. GebAK.

Oberbefehlshaber Oberrhein

Just noticed that Dieter had other dates:

I want to precise the commands:
Himmler:
02.12.1944 - 23.01.1945 ”Oberbefehlshaber Oberrhein Reichsführer-SS
So what is correct?

Cheers

30 November is confirmed by documents. I can't find a source for 21 (or 23) January at the moment.

If this became wirksam, Weichs was mstFb HGr Süd (which I never read of before).

P.S.: I guess You have no answers to my recent questions in "Grase" and in "379.ID"......

I have not yet found the details of von Manstein's return in the Heeresgruppe KTB but we know he was in a meeting with Hitler, Zeitzler, von Kluge, and Model on 04.05.1943.

I have been reviewing command change data over the last few days because I had a spreadsheet failure which meant that I lost all formatting, including source notes, but not names and dates. As a result I have some more info for AOK 6 and (Geb) AOK 20 that I will post soon.

AOK 6 1941

dated 30.04.1941

Während meiner 14 tägigen Abwesenheit ab 23.5.1941 übernimmt meine Vertretung:
a) als Gerichtsherr: General der Infanterie Kienitz, Festungsbaustab 17.
b) in laufenden Angelegeinheiten; Der Chef des Generalstabes des Abschnittsstabes Staufen, Oberst iG Heim

(Geb) AOK 20 1945
1.) Vertretung:
Ich bin in der Zeit vom 18.1 - 30.1.1945 dienstlich abwesend. Meine Vertretung übernimmt General d. Art. Tittel, Kom General LXX AK, in laufenden Angelegenheiten der Chef des Generalstabes (Geb) AOK 20
gez Rendulic
Armeetagesbefehl Nr.2 dated 15.01.1945 (RH_20_20_338_0015)

In his biography, Rendulic writes that he left (Geb) AOK 20 on 16.01.1945. We also know that he never returned, being appointed OB Heeresgruppe Nord and replaced by Böhme, who took over on 23.01.1945.

Manstein's stand-1n April-May 1943

Post by genstab » 13 Sep 2023 01:12

I just read in Mungo Melvin's "Manstein" that GFM Weichs and GenOb Model stood in for Manstein at Hgr. South in April-May 1943. I do have Model from 31 March to 4 April (Askropp) but nothing on Weichs. Can anyone help out here?

Best regards,

Hello John, thanks for Your info
Allow me pls. a few questions
1) here in AHF there were already listed the deputies for AOK.6, and for the time 12/13.6 - 18.6.41 Kienitz is reported. So Kienitz or v.Obstfelder correct ?
2) was Kittel deputy Geb.AOK.20 from 16 or 18.1.45 (You reported above both dates) ?
Also, Böhme 8.1.45 m.F.b. (by HPA), but erst 18.1 (You report 23.1) übern., what is correct ?
3) Also, do You know who was 23.6 - 29.6.44 Führer oder Vertreter (Geb.AOK.20) ?
(Dietl +23.6, Rendulić 29.6 übern.) (Rendulić from 25.6 by Keilig and from 27.6 by v.Siegler are m.F.b.-dates, are they ?)
Thanks for clarifications, Rossano
