Thank you Glenn!
Here is another one. A Kapitän zur See on the photo, but surely later admiral. I can't read the signature.

Not a future admiral as far as I am aware. This chap retired in the rank of captain;

Kapitän zur See a.D. Otto Herbig, the former captain of SMS Leipzig.

Thank you Glenn! Actually he was given the Char. Konteradmiral rank on 05 September 1909. Just a few months before he died (31 December 1909).
After his retirement in 1885 he was a Permanent Assessor of the Upper Maritime Office in Berlin (06 April 1886-31 December 1909).

Yes indeed

Could you please look at my posts #167 and #168 (on the previous page) and tell me if you agree with the ID's.

#167 Char. Admiral Max Rollmann (seen on the right photo from the book "Deutschlands Admirale")
#168 Vizeadmiral Leo Jacobson

Karlo,

I disagree with Elwyn on this one. For me, it is Rollmann. He is only wearing his Prussian awards (which is normal in service dress) and they match exactly what is listed in the 1913 Marine-Rangliste. He also wears the China commemorative medal (which was never listed) and which he most definitely would have been a recipient of.

Thank you Glenn once again!

Here is another old photo that I need help with. A post-war photo featuring a couple of admirals.

1 I am not sure if he is an admiral. But I think his sleeve insignia indicates he is a Konteradmiral? Am I correct?
2 Konteradmiral ???
3 Char. Vizeadmiral Karl Wedding
4 Is it Admiral Reinhard Scheer ???
5 Konteradmiral ???
6 Konteradmiral ???

Open the photo in a new tab to zoom in.

Thanks

Extremely tricky without having a clear image of the decorations. Number 4 does appear to be a full admiral.

Well, time frame is very narrow ... Emil Hell got PLM 21.09.16 and was replaced as Chef des Stabes by Victor Keller 07.12.16.

Looks like a Generalmajor.

Thanks
