Re: Request for Identification of Generals and Admirals
Not sure if "#8" was KtAdm Theodor Eschenburg ... but this was the man that appeared in the 1941 Kaiser funeral pictures.
In the 1929 Kaiser 70th birthday picture, "1" I think was a different man. "1" was likley a marine FlüAdj (and so was "2") as every army officer there was one. The aiguilette "1" had was much longer and thicker with the look of that of a Flügeladjutant's. And Eschenburg was not a FlüAdj.
With regards to Frhr v Paleske, he appeared only in the 1914 Rangliste as a Diensttuende Flügeladjutant, and not the 1926 Ehrenrangliste. I have him 1877 - 1962. Rank in 1914 was Korvettekapitan 19.09.12 D. He could be with the 5 Matrosen Rgt in Flanders if you belive that horrible internet picture. There were three other Marine FlüAdj in the 1914 rangliste: v Trotha, v Karpf and v Bülow. They can all be eliminated as "1" or "2".
Thanks
Elwyn

Karlo, Elwyn,Is this Char. Konteradmiral Theodor Eschenburg?
I would say yes. Admiral Eschenburg was a post-war appointment as a General-Adjutant (1925)
Here is Korvettenkapitän Freiherr von Paleske.
