As it was a bright and sunny spring day today, I went to take a closer look at the scars in the Pitkäsilta bridge, already depicted in the previous photo by Ike_FI.
It is quite a thought that these shots and machine-gun bursts with their impact still so clearly visible on the stones were fired in 1918 by the German troops, in the historical moment shortly before the surrender of the Reds in Helsinki.
