Movie about Michael Wittman's military career ?

Post by The Great Dictator » 15 May 2003 19:39

Just a thought , they should make a movie about Michael Wittman's military career. I would wait in line to see it , if it was made with the intensity and military accuracy of Saving Private Ryan.

Thanks

I absolutely agree. A film about Michael Wittman would be awsome. From his exploit on the Eastern Front to his exploit in the Battlefield of Normandy of 1944. We can only hope.

There is a good amount of info about his actions in the east on this site. Plus much more http://www.achtungpanzer.com/gen3.htm

Dont hold your breath for it.
Not as long as Jews control Hollywood.

Just have a look at these years Oscars. All Holocaust movies won.
Think that says it all. Same with Shindlers list.

Do you expect the Jews or Spielberg to produce a war movie starring a German SS Panzer Ace?

Wouldnt it be great to see the famous tank battle at Villers Bocage and Kursk, maybe someone should e-mail Stephen Spielberg and demand that he make this movie. Oh ya and if anyone would like to read a great book about Michael Wittman its called "Tiger Ace", its about his life and it has a lot of info about tactics and random info about the SS.

Thanks You

Tiger ace

The book you mention, 'Tiger Ace' by Gary L Simpson, is not a reliable source. Most of the detail has been 'invented' by Simpson and stitched around known incidents in Wittmann's career. It is nothing more than a development of a film script Simpson wrote about Wittmann. Thus it fits very well into a thread on such a project!

You are absolutely right Westwall. It's sad to say but the Jews control the film industry. I hope they are somebody out there with some new idea portraying the Germans has good soldiers like the Panzer Ace Michael Wittman or the Luftwaffe Ace Erich Hartmann.

As Westwall said,It is cool idea but i see the filmmakers and hollywood are being away from German military history of world war II(Except movied based on Stalingrad).Good idea but i don't have any hope.

Apart from this turning in to another ugly thread about Jewish control of media, do you really think a Hollywood movie would be made about Wittmann, a Waffen-SS ace, anyway? Dream on. It doesn't need alleged Jewish control of media to never make this happen and that's perfect. I very much enjoy researching the SS AA 1 but there's no need to glorify the Waffen-SS men and Hollywood is very well aware of that, with or without Jews.

...Benoit, apart from not making a movie about the Waffen-SS, how on earth does it personally affect you if the Jews control the film industry? Why is it "sad"?

Just my cents,
Timo

Wittmann was clearly a great Panzer commander. He was also a loyal SS soldier and loyal to Germany and the Fuhrer.
Just because he was a good soldier doesn't mean he didn't despise the Jews or agree with other Nazi policies.
Any film, if made correctly, would have to illustrate this point.

I agree, was he a die hard Nazi? Or was he like Joachim Pieper, not officially a member of the party?

Instead of doing it on an SS man it would probably be easier for obvious reasons to make a film on a Heer soldier/s...if the day ever does come.

...A Hollywood movie about a loyal SS soldier who as Führertreu. I rest my case.

...Joachim PEIper was not a member of the party, but he was none the less a national-socialist.

Timo,

It is sad because because they are still portraying that the Germans are evil and it is always the same rhetoric... True the Waffen SS commited atrocities but not all of them.
