Romanian amor involved in the Siege of Budapest

Post by kp1201 » 03 Apr 2017, 18:34

Does anyone have any specific information in regards to any armor or specific vehicles Romania fielded in the Siege of Budapest?

I know the Soviets had already confiscated most of their German kit, but were they just left with light infantry and artillery for the siege?

Thank you for any help in advance

There was a limited number of tanks in the Romanian 8 Cavalry Division. 9/8 operational on 1 December/1 January from the 3 Ukrainian Front's war diary. This division wasn't involved at Budapest though.

Thank you for your reply Art.

As best I understand it now, all of 7th Corps, including 9th Cavalry were reduced to just small arms, AT guns, and some artillery for the two weeks of fighting in Budapest.
