Is there any information on the gun shield of the 5 cm KwK , because there are several pictures
known and in this Topic with the gun with out a gun shield . Maybe the shield was later added ???

The 7.5 cm S.K. 97 (f) was intended as the first Sockellafette for the 5 cm KwK. This combination was designed in July 1942, but it seems that it was soon given up, and instead the Behelfssockellafette for 5 cm KwK was designed in July or August 1942. There is an interesting article about this topic in Waffen-Revue #79. (I think I have got a copy somewhere, but I cannot find it.)
Interesting that a number of these Sockellafetten with 5 cm KwK were actually installed in fortifications.
