Re: Atlantic Island Garrisons Spain
Here you have links to some articles in Spanish:
Tenerife:http://hispanianova.rediris.es/4/articulos/04_004d.htm
Fuerteventura and Lanzarote: http://memoriadelanzarote.com/contenido ... entura.pdf
Gran Canaria: https://acceda.ulpgc.es:8443/bitstream/ ... 1/5268.pdf
La Palma: http://mdc.ulpgc.es/cdm/ref/collection/aea/id/2306
Also in Spanish there are some books available, but I can't say how useful they can be as I have not read them:
From their titles, they are mainly centered in the Second World War period, but they may include also information about defenses during the SCW. In general, it is easier to obtain information about the defenses during the Second World War than in the 1937-1939 period, when the priority in the Canaries was to send forces to the Peninsula and the defense of the islands was a secondary mission.
