Unternehmen Orkan

Post by Landser1943 » 02 Jan 2018, 16:51

Hi! I'm interested in Unternehmen Orkan (German counterattack operation made by General Siecekenius) losses against Operation Avalanche, the landings at Salerno, since 9th september 1943 to the day when Germans left Naples, 30th September 1943.
How many KIA,WIA,MIA and POWs had Germans? I start this topic because there isn't a real discussion on German losses at Salerno and I am curious to know.

Yes, but alas, there do not seem to be a fourth person who acutually knows the answer to the question in the first post.

In his Osprey-book, Angust Konstam claims that allied losses was 12560 (KIA; WIA; POW) and adds that "German casualties have been places around 3500 to 4000". He doesn't give a source.
