I hope this is the appropriate section to post this.

A "drift bottle" was recently found in W. Australia. The finder(s) notified the area experts.

If anything qualifies as historical research, this event gets listed !

Admittedly, my knowledge of all this is narrowed down to Herr Humbolt (spelling) and the ocean current bearing his name.
