Turkish armored car

Post by Skarpskytten » 29 Jun 2018 12:46

Dear forum members,

browsing throught Getty images I have found a photograph an alledged turkish armored car "ca. 1915".

This seems suspect to me.

Is the caption correct?

Does anyone have any more information regarding this armored car (or just armed automobile?)?

Nice!

I found some more info here: https://www.ottoman-uniforms.com/1909-t ... n-carrier/.

Evidently, these for un-armored cars saw no combat during ww1.

Could this be the first "Technical", a type widely popular in the Middle East today?

Sid.

Ha!

Well, it doesn't seem to be a true armored car, so I think that is one way describe it.
