Post by Söderbaum » 26 Sep 2018 23:19

Hi
I am searching date and place of birth for Hptm Erich Becker from FAR 69. He died in mid 1930s.
After WW1 he was living in Berlin as Hptm aD and Kaufmann (salesman). Anyone who can help ?

The seniority list of the Prussian Army for 1914 shows a Lieutenant Becker (no fist name given), with a date of rank of 14 February 1906, serving with Feld Artillery Regiment 69.

You can find searchable seniority lists (https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/000495263 )on the Hathi Trust website.

Here, also, is the page for the regiment on "GenWiki."

http://genwiki.genealogy.net/FAR_69

Among other things, the GenWiki page shows a regimental history. (If it is like most regimental histories of the era, it will make some mention of Becker, if only in the initial order of battle.)

Thanks Hoplophile

I am aware about the Regiment books about FAR 69, but hoped that someone had them which might give date and place of birth. But I knew that many of these Regiment books dont even have lists of active officers, some other Regiment books which have good info actually lack info on several "high" decorated officers who not served within the Regiment during WW1, they are simple forgotten.

I have his promotion etc from RQLs, MWB etc which are available online.

The only strong link that I have at moment is too find his death certificate which probably gives birth-info.
