Help needed with German sentence please?

#1

I can't make out a valid English translation for this short phrase in red:

Doch während Major Waldow seine Karte faltet, orgelt eine Salve Arie heran, und noch ehe alles in Deckung ist, schlagen die Geschosse auf der Straße ein. Verdammt, das hat noch gefehlt. Verwundete schreien, werden sofort, da Sanitäter da sind, verbunden. Ausfälle schon vor dem Angriff."

and, also (in blue) I assume that "Salve Arie" is a highfalutin way of saying a salvo of artillery shells (i.e. "a salvo aria" or something of the sort)?

"Salve Arie" = Salve Ar[-tiller-]ie = salvo of artillery shells
"Verdammt, das hat uns noch gefehlt" = Damn, that's all we needed!

"das hat noch gefehlt" is literally "that has still missed".
