Hi,

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest Air War Publications eArticle, available to download here: https://airwarpublications.com/product/ ... c-pioneer/.

'Jabos Sink the HMS Arctic Pioneer' tells the story of the actions on the afternoon of 27 May 1942 involving four Luftwaffe fighter-bombers, four Spitfires of No. 41 Squadron, and the trawler HMS Arctic Pioneer. The British vessel was lying in waters off the Isle of Wight when the Messerschmitt 109s swept in at low altitude and sank it, with a tragic loss of life. However, the Spitfires were able to gain some revenge, by attacking and shooting down one of the fighter-bombers.

Adam Thompson and I were able to include numerous first-hand accounts from various participants, and we have been able to tell the story from all perspectives using various British and German sources. We hope you like what we've produced.

Regards,
Andrew A.
