Walther PPK marked RZM

Post by valentine1873 » 26 Jul 2019 20:19

I was just given a Walther PPK marked RZM on the slide. The slide and barrel are marked with a crown and an N. Slide is also marked Zella Mehlis (thur). Serikal number is 1000861. When was this made?

Not exactly sure, but most likely it is 1938.

A bit late to ask, but have you checked to see if the last three digits of the serial number are scratched on the inside of the slide, opposite the ejection port. The RZM contract was produced from 1934 through about 1936 in the mid 800 000 range serial numbers. Later numbered pistols are curiosities to collectors who often ask if the slide is numbered to the frame by the three scatched digits. Otherwise, the possibility exists that the slide was added to the gun by someone other than the factory. Thanks.
