Infantry Unit in Stream Hex : Level -1
1 The Infantry Unit in the Stream Hex, has a Line of Sight to the 6 Hexes Directly around it
2. Japanese Positions on the Hill, cannot see or Fire on The U S Infantry Unit in the Stream Hex , unless Japanese Units move next to the Stream Hex
or the U S Unit Exits the Stream Hex , and is in the Line of Sight of a Japanese Unit , that must drop Concealment to Fire.
3. Any Line of Fire Traced along the Bamboo/Brush Hex side would be Blocked by Jungle Terrain that Fills the Entire Hex and Extends Out to Bamboo
Hex Sides/ Bamboo/Brush Height is Level One/ Jungle Terrain/+1 TEM
Jungle Terrain /Wood Hex is Level Two/+2 TEM

Japanese Positions that are Set Back/Reverse Slope Part of Level Two Hill can see the Level Two Open Ground Hexes at the Front of the Hill
and Cannot be Over to the Lower Level One Open Ground Hexes

To Protect Bunkers from Close Assault, the Japanese Player places Wire Counter on Top of Bunker Counter
1. Infantry Units must first pass thru Wire to Close Assault Bunkers w/Demo Charge
Infantry unit could Throw Demo Charge instead/Thrown Demo Charge attacks with 30 Fire Power Factors
Throwing Unit , is also affected by blast, with +3 Modifier/Target Hex receives +2 /plus any TEM to 30 Fire Power Factor Column Attack Dice Roll 2. To Pass Thru Wire, Infantry Unit expends MF to enter Hex, then is Placed On Top of WIre
3. Infantry Player then makes dr, if the dr is a 3, the Infantry Unit must expend 3 MF to Pass Thru WIre

Bamboo /Brush Rules Clarification:
1. The U S Player announces that 9-1 Leader with 3 Squads will Double Time /move to Level One Hill /Open Ground Hex and Enter Bamboo Hex Next to
Japanese Bunker.
2. When the U S Player moves into Level One Hill Open Ground Hex , Next to the Bamboo, the Japanese Player informs the U S Player, that to Enter
the Bamboo Hex, the U S Infantry Units CANNOT enter the Bamboo Hex, that represents Difficult Terrain.
3. The U S Infantry Units would have had to be NEXT to the Bamboo , during the Start of the U S Player Move Phase, even if CX,
After Entering the Bamboo during Move Phase, those Infantry Units may Move No Further during that Move Phase.
4. In Example Shown, U S Player Units would be considered to have Double Timed, /CX Status, but must stop in Level One Hill Open Ground Hex
before Bamboo Hex.

Placing Smoke Grenades:
The US 7-0 Leader w/3 First Line Squads on Level One Hill Open Ground Hex
1. The U S Player must designate which Squad will attempt to Place Smoke at Top of Level Two Open Ground Hex
2. Only FULL Squads with small case 1-2-3 /Next to Fire Power Factor have Smoke Grenades
3. The U S Player declares that, One Squad L, will attempt to Place Smoke on Level Two Hill Hex, and makes Smoke Placement dr of 1
an additional dr is made for Placing Smoke to Higher Level, dr must be 1-3 to land at Higher Level/4-6 Grenades lands back in Throwing Hex
4. To Place Smoke, the Placing Unit REMAINS in Current Hex,
5. Placing Smoke in Adjacent Hex requires 2 MF / The Placing Unit does not Enter the Hex ,throwing the Smoke into the Adjacent Hex
6. Throwing Smoke , does not incur Moving in Open Fire Penalties -1/ or Non Assault Move -1

The CX 8-1 Leader w/3 CX Squads starts the Move Phase next to Bamboo, amy enter the Bamboo Hex, may move no Further that Move Phase
During the Advance Phase, the CX Units may move One Hex Out of Bamboo

Japanese Player resets North Pillbox into Jungle Terrain/Wood Hex to Cover Trench Line/3 Trench Counters and Point 526

Japanese Player Tactical Plan:
1. The Jungle Terrain to some degree , offsets the Heavy U S Fire Power , and Number of Squads that can be stacked in Jungle Terrain.
On New Georgia, the Jungle Terrain was a Massive overgrown tangle of vegetation , that at the time , was the worst encountered in Pacific Islands
a. The Two Types of Jungle Terrain/Dense Jungle PTO Terrain , Wood Hexes, and Jungle Terrain, Bamboo, Brush Hex
stacking Limit of 2 Squads/Leader and Support Weapon
b. This Stacking Limit cannot be exceeded,at any time, for this scenario, requiring both sides to carefully consider, before making a move.
Any Over Stacked Units /Routing thru Overs Stacked / Units are considered LOST in the Jungle and may not return to Play.
2. The Tactical Setup will take advantage of making a Setback/Reverse Slope Position, 3 Trenches across the Front, with Pillbox Fire from the North and South to Sweep the Forward edge of the Hill of Opposing Forces . Wire will also add to the Foes problems attempting to advance or skirt around the position.
3. The Key Point of the Defense,/Level Two Hill/ is the Jungle Terrain Hex next to Point 526, During Turn One, a Squad must be in Position to move into this Hex .
U S Forces will have a difficult task to take this advance position, under fire from North /South Pillbox Sweeping Fire.
