Engineering support of Todt Organization

Post by otis68 » 26 Oct 2019 23:28

Good afternoon. I apologize for my English. I'm from Russia. And write on this forum through an automatic the interpreter. I have a question about providing TODT's construction teams with equipment. What types and brands of concrete mixing machines used in construction teams. Concrete pumping machines (types and brands of the manufacturer). Air compressors (types and brands of the manufacturer). Generators of electric power (types and Marik of the producer). Drilling machines( types and brands of the manufacturer). Concrete vibrators electric (types and brands of the manufacturer). Sawmills( types and brands of the manufacturer). Trolleys for narrow-gauge road (types and brands manufacturers). Electric locomotives (types and brands of the manufacturer). Transformers for underground operation. And other construction equipment(cranes, excavators, and others) I will be glad of any information on this issue.

just found and interested in this topic . Also what equipment was part of the military engineers and Pioneers have available them and quantities to units, battalions, divisions. Or was it basically manual labour based with equipment captured or requested from civilians only?

Good afternoon. I apologize for my English. I am from Russia and I am writing on this forum through the translator app. I have seen photos on this forum where Todt employees work on concrete mixing equipment. I met a photo with an excovator. Or for example as in this photo. Repair of the bridge after being put on in Konigsberg

Good morning otis68,

a very interesting pic You have posted. Here my comments:
1. That is not an excavator, but a crane. I think it is a Bilstein crane for 3 tons like on the pic.
2. The vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz "Maultier" type L 4500 R halftrack.
3. The repair works could have been after the bomb attack 30th August 1944 by the Royal Air Force with 650 bombers.

Regards

Bert

Hi otis68,

to the excavators on th pics You have posted:
I think that the excavator on pic 3 could be a Menck & Hambrock type Mo
and I think that the excavator on pic 2 on the left side could be a Menck & Hambrock type MV
and on the right side a Menck & Hambrock type E.

Hi otis68,

now to the concrete mixers on Your first pic:
I could not find the xact model of these mixers. But here is a Jaeger Schnellmixer from the year 1933 produced by the company Joseph Vögele A.G. in Mannheim. I am sure that the mixers on Your pic are more modern and efficient than the mixers on the pics here.

Hi otis68,

here another German company, which produced excavators: Bünger. Here some pics out of an advertisement from 1939.

Good afternoon. I am from Russia and I am writing on this forum through a translator and I apologize for my English. Thank you for the wonderful photos of teznik. While researching photos of the construction work, I found an interesting structure near the construction site.In Konigsberg, a narrow-gauge railway was used during the construction of the bunker. At the time of excavation in the pit. And at the time of the concrete pouring, a hangar with a length of about 100 meters and a width of about 20-30 appeared next to the road. And about 6-7 meters high. The photo shows that a track leads to this building. I have an opinion that this is either a concrete production plant. Or it's a tunnel. Here is a photo of this place.

Hi otis68,

to the first pic You posted. In the meantime I could identify the bridge and the destroyed building in the background:
it is the so-called "Holzbrücke" (woodden bridge) and the "Löbenichtsches Realgymnasium" (high school of Löbenicht)(Löbenicht was one of the districts of Königsberg). Here some pics of the bridge and the high school.

Hi otis 68,

now to the last pic You posted.
I tried to find the place and I think I have succeeded.
It is near to the central station (Hauptbahnhof) and the square of the Empire (Reichsplatz). Th special building (I don´t think that it is a tunnel) is in the Burgenland street (Burgenlandstraße). The trees near to this special building belong to the old cemetery of Haberberg (one of the districts of Königsberg). On the right there is the Trinity church of Haberberg. Here a map, the names of the streets and buildings on Your pic, and pics of the main station and the church. Interesting the last pic also with the narrow gage railway.

Good afternoon Bird. I apologize for my English. The translator misrepresents your name. Thank you for your help. I am very sorry that I made the mistake of not specifying the building that interests me. But your photos will help me. I have just posted a photo. And he outlined the cut to which I am interested. Regarding the bunker that is located on the territory of the cemetery, this is the bunker of the Kriegsmarine command bunker network. The model of the T750 hopper. But I haven't found a construction plan or drawings yet. In your photo number three, this building is not visible. And I hope that there is a photo of this place, but from a different angle. It is very important to me when this building appeared (I circled it in the photo). Before that, vreneni when they were digging is a pit under T750 or later. When the pouring of concrete began.

Hi otis68,

I´m sure You know the interesting site in the internet about these buildings T 750 and others:
http://www.truppenmannschaftsbunker.de/tmb.html
The T 750 in Königsberg was probably built between spring and autumn 1943.

Bert
