Hi All,
My dad picked up a few items at a flea market in Spain, all of which I suspect are fake. (Note that I'm a Novice here, at best...)
Thought I would post them here anyway to get your thoughts and learn a thing or two.
Last is this NSFK Free Balloon Pilot's Badge (already did separate posts for what I'm calling a "Commemorative Boating Coin" and "Luftwaffe Pin").
I'm assuming this is fake pretty much purely on the "too good to be true" theory. Clasp also looks funny to me, but again total Novice.
Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

NSFK Free Balloon Pilot's Badge
Re: NSFK Free Balloon Pilot's Badge
Sorry, it seems a reproduction badge ( Oak leaves, impersonal dummy, clasp, material )

Re: NSFK Free Balloon Pilot's Badge
Thanks for posting the original. Giving it a quick comparison, I think I'm seeing some of the points that von thoma had mentioned above. The clasp on the circular base is obviously different. But comparing the fronts I can see a difference with the leaves as well as the dummy. The leaves on the fake look different, more jagged? The dummy is also noticeably less lifelike. Looks a lot cheaper by comparison.
Really appreciate the responses.

The details on the Icarus is the tell on NSFK pieces , the lack of detail.
