I have been a historical researcher for many years and I am part of a large group of researchers who mainly deals with the countryside of Africa and Italy. Going off at a tangent, have you considered the British interrogations of Italian prisoners in North Africa and available at UK National Archives. Several hundred if remembered correctly.
