There are some info that differs:
One source given states it was sunk by U 558 Günther Kresch on February 24. 1942.
Another source given states March 1.1942 and sunk by U 158 Erwin Rostin.

Does anyone you guys have the correct info on the convoy ON 67 and especially Finnanger?
What are the German sources for the attack and did U 158 or U 558 sink it? I think U 158 is correct (uboat.net)... But correct me if I am wrong.
If sunk by U 158, there is another thing that puzzles me in this on the sinking of Finnanger (source: uboat.net):
If the crew abandoned ship as stated...After the crew abandoned ship, U 158 went closer and fired holes into the waterline with the deck gun and the 37mm AA gun until the ship capsized. They continued firing with the AA gun into the bottom until the tanker finally sank at 16.17 hours. The survivors were not questioned due to heavy seas and no radio messages were heard, but this must have been the Finnanger.
1) Were they killed by gunfire from U 158?
2) Rough sea that day. May the lifeboats have gone under due to this?
Speculations of course, but what is most likely?
Thank you and greetings from Norway.
