Feldpost number but sent while gestrichen?

Post by Helsinkk » 18 Jun 2020 15:59

Hey Everyone,

I have a postcard with feldpost number 27840 and I checked the website (awesome source of information btw). Anyways, the date on my card is from a period where on the website it mentions the word gestrichen and that struck me as odd cause from the info I got gestrichen basically means that number was out of use? So I was wondering if this is unusual or not.

A photo attached for you with the date showing to be early October (10) while all the info states this Feldpost number gestrichen as of 25-09.

With kind regards

The dates are just estimates so a one month discrepancy is fine.

And many Fp.Nr. were used again.
At least some Fp.Nr. that were reported as used in the Netherland at the end of 1944/1945 were not in use according to websites, lists and books.
