German dog-tag question

#1

Post by huddyhuddy » 13 Apr 2021, 16:59

Hello,

What are the "Gend. Zug (mot.)" units exactly?
And what does the initials beneath the "Gend. Zug (mot.) Nr. 28" stand for?

Thank you.

YOud have to heaar from an expert....but I think for German Dog tags...had the Blood Group...branch of service....no names but a numbering of bearer name in the Unit register.....in came in two parts..one would be kept with the corpse for identification..the other would would be sent off so as noted above his name could be checked off as a casualty...
I think the following will be helpful to you in your query
