Leutnant W. v. Ruckteschell Schutztruppe GEA K./A. on 27.7.1941?

Different sources mentioned, that Luitenant Walter v. Ruckteschell / Schutztruppe GEA was
killed in action in the II. WW, at the Liparian Islands near Messina in the Mediterranean Sea
on an Italian Submarrine-Hunter, during a `unknown´ mission?

“Walter von Ruckteschell kam bei einer nicht näher bekannten militärischen Mission, die ihn zum Afrika-Korps nach Nordafrika
führen sollte, am 27.07.1941 ums Leben, als das Schiff, mit dem er zu seinem Ziel unterwegs war, im Mittelmeer unterging.“

Found just before a part of the questions, but month (June, not July) and type of the Italian ship (Submarine, not submarine Hunter)
isn´t correct.

27th - Submarine "Triumph" on patrol off the Egyptian coast sank the Italian submarine "SALPA".

Seems to be it wasn´t July, but September 27th 1941

The Italian Submarine-chaser “Albatros” was sunk on 27th September 1941 in the Strait of Messina by the British submarine HMS “Upright”

At 6:40 on September 27, 1941 Albatross under command of captain Alessandro Mazzetti left Messina to meet up with the German submarine U-371 and to escort her through the Strait of Messina. At 8:20 British submarine HMS Upright spotted Albatros off Milazzo and decided to attack. Albatros detected the submarine and started closing in trying to ping the submarine's position. At 8:55, when the Italian ship came in for the second pass, Upright launched two torpedoes from approximately 2,750 meters away. One torpedo hit Albatros while the British submarine rapidly dove down.[3] Albatros sank in the position 38°24′N 15°22′E eight miles northwest of Milazzo. 36 men died, and there were 47 survivors.

World War II: The torpedo boat (329/482 t, 1934) was torpedoed and sunk in the Mediterranean Sea off Messina, Sicily ( ) by HMS Upright ( Royal Navy). 32 crew and 2 German officers sank with her. There were 49 survivors, but two of them died of their wounds.[69][159]
