Hello ;

I think it's a legit Infantry Assault Badge, marked by Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid.

Infanterie Sturmabzeichen Silber – Hersteller GWL (Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid)

The badge was introduced on 20 December 1939 by decree of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Walther von Brauchitsch. According to the ordinance, it was to be awarded to infantrymen as a visible sign of recognition of the infantryman who had proven himself in the assault and at the same time as an incentive to the highest performance of duty.
