Has anyone ever seen an error size in a flag? I recently saw an 85x135 and it made me curious. I’ve seen an 80x135 in the past that turned out to be the real deal, but this one could be some kind of error by the maker? It had the eagle-m and was confirmed cotton, with 2 hems and correct spine stitching.

I've seen many different sizes in my day.Might be a good one. I know I've seen charts with the so called **authorised NSDAP or National war flags with sizes, then have had flags that are not on these so called charts. (there is a so called flag expert over on WAF) bahaha who posts these charts all the time,..

It has no tag, just the eagle-M, and size. We’re sure 100% it is old old cotton. It has a spot of red bled onto the white, so do you think they’d still naval acceptance stamp it even with that defect? Seems fishy to me, but I’m nowhere near an expert... maybe a very early fake we’re dealing with.

I snagged a picture of the size, what do you guys think of the font? Seems to me most originals have larger dark black lettering on the spine.....

Probably worth $50 for display purposes though, it’s semi high quality for what it is. I’m still in for it if I can buy it right

Could anyone tell me about this? Does it look fake? I am new to flags so I’m clueless. It’s wool. And 24”X15.5”

This flag is a really bad reproduction... wrong material, wrong construction, really bogas stamp mark.... nothing like an original.

*Not an expert* but I’m not even sure that’s wool, wrong hemming and something’s funky with the cross. I’d be in it for like $20 to backdrop a gun cabinet or a table maybe but that’s about it,

Hello members,

How can I tell if this flag is authentic? I only have photos. I would greatly appreciate any feedback you might provide.

The marking says: Reichskriegsfl. (Reich War Fl.) 100X170 Hannoversche Fahnenfabrik (Hannover Flag Factory, which was a legitimate establishment producing flags, and has a Wikipedia reference to it).

There is also a little eagle with an M.

Thank you,

Hardworker, looks like correct material, correct printing, correct markings, etc., so from what's showing I'd say it's legit.... The hoist rope has been cut which hurts alittle, seeing the entire flag would help.... But stands an excellent chance imo. The eagle M is a Navy marking.

I have questions about the hem, hard_worker. I had one just like that (100 x 170) and had a helluva time trading it because of the hem. Mine lacked the makers stamp but had a decent eagle/M and size

I've owned dozens of RKFsq and see no problem I see is someone has removed the role halyzrd. Not that unusual. Hurts the value alittle, but still say nice original flag.

Hi all. A person at work has this battle flag for sale. i collect all sorts of german ww2 stuff but i dont have any flags and am hoping any experts here can help me. i was reading this thread while she had the flag at work and i took a bunch of close ups so you guys can see stitching and fabric. its all 1 piece of material (no stitched on roundel and/or swas) I have more pics i can upload on another post if you want (can only add 4 or 5 images on i post)
The fabric is very thin cotton. I dont have it so cant do a burn test but i know its not poly type material. the thread count on it seem low. There is no other stamps or markings on the reverse side of where you see the reichkriegflg and size and eagle M. I apologize for the bunched up pics but flailing a 5 foot tall swastika flag in a office at work might make some people sad lol. also my hands are dirty from being out in the plant im working at.. haha

Original Flag.... Nice one imho. You should start a new thread rather than revive an old one.... You'll attract more attention that way....
Good collecting.
