Cotentin revisited
Cotentin revisited
After nearly 30 years I have returned for the first time to visit remains of the Atlantikwall on the Cotentin peninsula. Comparing the situation then and now shows that some fortification have gone or have been closed due to urban development (like some bunkers around the gare maritim and west of Bastion II), some are now more or less completely overgrown (like MKB Brommy) and some were reduced by natural forces (like MKB Blankenese). But some places didn't change that much.
Please find attached some comparison images between 1944 and 2022.
Enjoy the images.........................

Re: Cotentin revisited
Thanks a lot!
We were quite lucky to find the southeastern emplacement of MKB Hamburg abandoned. As far as I know it was for sale one of two years ago. It looks like there is no new owner until now.
