Yugoslav unit in luftwaffe?

Post by Srbac » 29 Mar 2023 02:25

Because I know Goering himself really loved Serbia, he met with king Alexander, and even came to his funeral, he also donated a lot of luftwaffe planes to Yugoslavia during 1939’s and before, and Prince Paul Regent in one of the pictures is seen having the Luftwaffe observer badge. So I was wondering if he ever established a small Luftwaffe unit composed of Yugoslav forces during that era because I know Spain, Croatia, and Russia had it.. but not Yugoslavia even tho Yugoslavia and Luftwaffe had close ties before the war.

No. The only ex Yugoslav unit was Croatian leagion of Idepemndant state of Croatia.
German aircraft in Yugoslav air force (Bf-109E-3, Bf-108, Do-17K, Do-D, Do-22, Do-Y, Do Wal, Ju-30K) were bought not donated. Some were built under licence (Do-17K)

Hello, Srbac

As I already advised you multiple times, try reading and thus informing yourself more before posting. And you really need to control your obsession about your countrymen serving their occupier, which is turning into fantasising. It's unhealthy, to say the least. Stating that you "know" that Göring "really loved" a country which he in reality bombed (!) is lunacy. Göring was a politician. Just because a politician met another official, attended an official event or exchanged medals with another official, it doesn't mean they loved or even liked them. It's what politicians do. It's all part of their slimy game they call diplomacy, and is rarely sincere. And it's the same today: just turn on your TV and see how the politicians behave. They exchange gifts and fake smiles, shake hands and make and break pacts as it suits them. Not exactly the finest specimens of the human race.

Cheers,
Ivan
