Regarding the "di-da-di-did" bit, for those who didn't know:

When being trained in Morse coding, there is a mnemonic aid for remembering the code for the letter "L" - it's the sentence "Ich liebe dich" ("I love you") which has the same metrum (meter) as the code.
On the back side of the the famous postwar "Drei Lilien, drei Lilien..." record, the "Funkerlied" was actually credited with the morse code for "L" (dot-dash-dot-dot) as its secondary title :)
