.

Fegelein was a dashing cavalier whose war record was with the SS police cavalry ,
he hunted down Jews in the Bielorussian pripets marshes
made liaison officer between Himmler and Hitler he was constantly around and in the inner circle ,

several books mention that he deliberately dazzled Gretl , Eva was by all account very supportive of the liaison and so was Hitler , Himmler would have sen it as advantageous to him too ,
their marriage was the big thing in Nazis circle , there was nothing hushed about it

there were for several years a search by the SD for a spy amongst the highest circle of the fuhrer entourage ,
Historian make a big deal of the Lucy spy ring ( it was a big deal )but there might have been other sources
Stalin in particular knew the very words used by Hitler in a matter of days
this suspicion came to nothing but remained ,
during the last days Fegelein went missing much to the fury of Hitler
two detectives of the Kripo were send and arrested him at one of his love nest ,
he was drunk , abusive with civilian clothes ,jewelry and money , ready for an escape
his lover was an Hungarian divorcee of suspicious allegiance who had already escaped , without waiting for him
Felegein was brought back to the bunker , interrogated by no less than Katelbrunner
taken outside and shot ,
no mercy was the style of the time
and if the women were sweet on Felegein , the men hated him

one of the interrogator expressed his satisfaction to have caught the spy at last

it could all be part of the last days delirium ,
most of those affirmations came in a book by an American detective written in the fifties
he painstakingly interrogated the surviving small witnesses members of the staff , often the first one to do so
and crosschecked the times and attendance
one of the best witnesses being the power plant supervisor , who kept the generator and ventilation going
this man was intimate with everybody and was the only German left in the bunker when the Soviets came in

it was a group of women doctors and nurses who fell on Eva extensive collection of silk underwear with whoops of joy
hardly bothering with him

Hello Helge, and welcome to the Forum!

When posting photographs, please note that you must show the source for them just as for text, per the Forum guidelines at http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... =6&start=0:
Listing the source of the images
The administration appreciate that many of the discussions require illustrations, including period photographs. At the same time, we would like to maintain the high quality that the Axis History Forum is known for. Therefore, we require that our members list the source of the photographs they post. The required information depends on the source of the photograph.

Books and magazines: The author and title of the book. Page number is also preferred, but not required.

Archives: The archive name and reference, as per the instructions of the archive.

Websites: The URL to the specific page where the photograph was found. Note, that Google image search or eBay auction is not accepted. If you have found the photograph using Google image search, you must follow the link on Google, and post the website address. Likewise, for eBay auctions, you must post the seller's id. If you do not remember the source, you must explicitly write this (this is not a carte blanche to state that the source for all the photographs you post are unknown, and abuse of this method is not accepted).

Own collection: If you own the photograph yourself (i.e. a period print or a print which you are allowed to re-publish), you must write so either by watermarking the photograph or writing it in your post. Claiming you own photographs which you do not actually own will not be tolerated.

Violating these guidelines can result in removal of posts, warnings, loss of photo posting privileges and banning.

Images from books should be no more than two,due to copyright laws, with full credit given.

Linked images
If you link directly to images be sure to include both a link to the page where the image was found, and a link to the main page of the website.

Best regards,
~Vikki

Thanyou Helge,

What a nice collection.

But I see it was at Hermann Historica, hopefully it will eventually get a good home.

Hi,
Shame on you who are just rumor mongering and slandering two lovely girls.
I, like everyone else has only got circumstantial evidence. 1) Schroeder was always the "smart arse" and shit stirrer out of the 5 female secretaries.
2) Gretl's parents were strict. Mum a practicing RC in Bavaria in the 30's. of all times and places. Her Dad being strict had the balls enough to tell the F & RC AH to pull his head in, what chance would some soldier have had getting his hands on his baby girl! 3) The Gestapo was keeping an eye on many important people for safety and or security, but we are to believe no one kept an eye on people who were virtually the Fuhrers family so they could not be caught by the Green Police up some dark alley with a casual lover? 4) I'm sure that with the caliber of friends Hitler had in his inner circle who would not keep a secret from him he knew just about everything that was going on. IE, Johanna Wolf, both Goebbels's, Bormann (not so much a friend), Walter Hewel and Hans Baur to name some. 5) Hitler knew about the goings on of his personal house staff and also the outside guard detachment. If he found out that one of the outside guards had got married without his permission don't you think he would know what the sister of his girlfriend was up to. Come on.
I had hoped this thread may have shed some light on the tragic life, postwar, of Gretl and Eva. It makes one weep to think that the niece of one of the greatest women in history died so young in such a sad and sorrowful setting.
Thanks
Rob

francois wrote:Several books have stated that Gretl Braun, who stayed at Eva's house in Munich with their maid, dated frequently and became pregnant by a German soldier, who was named, whose name I can't remember now. This soldier refused to marry Gretl, even after a request/demand from Hitler. Hitler was furious and ordered the soldier sent to the front where he quickly perished in the war against Russia.
This soldier was Fritz Darges. He was SS Captain and became adjutant to Hitler in march 1943 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_Darges). This is how he and Gretl are supposed to have met and had sex.
But it's not sure he is the father of Eva.
Some say he was sent to russian front following a dispute with Hitler, some say this dispute was about marrying Gretl... but nothing is sure :

Fritz Darges didnt die during the war. He died at the age of 96 in 2009 (!).
There is his version of the dispute :
During a strategy conference a fly began buzzing around the room, landing on Hitler's shoulder and on the surface of a map several times.
Irritated, Hitler ordered Darges to "dispatch the nuisance". Darges suggested whimsically that, as it was an "airborne pest" the job should go to the Luftwaffe adjutant, Nicolaus von Below.
Enraged, Hitler dismissed Darges on the spot. "You're for the eastern front!" he yelled. And so he was sent into combat.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/6461171 ... laims.html
So the dispute didnt happen about Gretls marriage but over a fly during a military conference...
"Another version of this story claims Darges was merely snickering as Hitler looked up from the map" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritz_Darges citing Gordon Williamson, The SS: Hitler's Instrument of Terror, 2006 p.251.

Darges denied a relation with Gretl. This is what he says in his memoirs (published after his death) :
One time we went off to Italy together with Eva Braun and her sister Gretel in an open-topped car.
"I had to organise all the finances. I had the feeling that Eva's sister was interested in me but I didn't think I should become the brother-in-law of the Fuehrer.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/6461171 ... laims.html
So Gretl was interested in him, but he he was not.

Since Eva's father was not Fegelein nor Darges... who was he ?
Today only DNA would answer that.

There is a topic on Fritz Darges well informed in the forum : viewtopic.php?f=38&t=54344&start=30

Traudl Junge Until the Final Hour: Hitler's Last Secretary p.117/118 confirms what Fritz Darges said in his memoirs :
"Gretl Braun was in love with Fritz Darges too, but a love affair with her was a little too dangerous and not private enough for young Fritz, so she hadnt been able to make up his mind."

Traudl Junge tells us how Fritz Darges was a Don Juan :D Gretl fell in love with him, but also another woman of the Hitler's inner circle : Marlene von Exner.
