Hello, Bernd,

You asked for a confirmation of Günter Goebel. I can confirm that. No doubt as to who that is.

Hello, again, Bernd,

On page 92, RKT23.jpg is listed as Friedrich-Wilhelm von Chappuis. That is a mis-identification, but I am unable to identify him. I have two other pix of Chappuis, and the depicted is not he.

Thanks Terry,

just to avoid confusion with all this jpg numbering, I have listed now on the index
Friedrich-Wilhelm von Chappuis
and added to the "not identified" section like the others from this series
this one - RKT.27.jpg, who is not v. Chappuis and not yet indentified

Hello, Bernd,

Many thanks for your response and I am glad that I was able to help.

I have been looking for a photo that was posted which was labeled as "Admiral Lütjens addresses crew of the Scharnhorst". Was this removed?

In any case, I wanted to say that the officer addressing that crew was not Admiral Lütjens, but Admiral Otto Ciliax, Commander-in-Chief Battleships. The commanding officer of the ship is the third one from the right on the front row. He was Captain Kurt-Cäsar Hoffmann.

I have gone through every page of the previous postings, and somehow, I must have missed that pic, but wanted to offer a correction as to the identity of the officer on that platform speaking to the crew of the Scharnhorst.

Thank you very much and thank you for all you do.

Sincerely

Terry

Hello, all,

On P 196, listed as wet5ey5.jpg is a pic showing a submarine commandant being awarded the KC by Admiral Dönitz.
The recipient is Engelbert Endraß or Endrass.

Hope this helps.

bake,

the last which looks like slightly mis-captioned Grabe - Inf.-Pion.-Zugf.
is
Groebe, Manfred 17.03.1945 Leutnant d.R. Pi.Zugführer i. d. StabsKp/Gren.Rgt 278 / 95. Inf.Div.
decorated by Div.Kdr. Genmaj Joachim-Friedrich Lang.
should be one of the very last photographs of those two, as both were KIA near PILLAU in april 45 - Lang, 16 Apr and Groebe, 24 Apr [per Scherzer]

Could somebody confirm if this is Paul Lange? The site gives the last name but not the first.
