The index is updated. A lot of ids, thanks all !
Not identified from the last series :
page 256 : SM0497 , KM RKT, by Jeroen

page 257 : SM0549

page 258 : PIC_2-665.jpg , SM0666 , SM0667

page 259 : SM0683 , BA Unknown Warsaw August 1944.jpg

I'm with John that SM0669 = Günter Braake. Two pics of him on the index already for comparisn.

Further opinions on the Monte Cassino FJ on page 259 ; von der Heydte , Heilmann ?? I too thought it should be v.d.Heydte.

Best regards
Bernd

Welcome to the forum chris44 !! :D
Excellent effort ! Not only the number of ids, and Heimhilger e.g., but also you identified one of the all-time most requested (those appearing 4+ times in the thread). Heinz Herzer

btw, with him and a few turns I think I'm near to solve another issue I was looking for a long time. In short the hypothesis : Leutnant Herzer at one time was posted to the Ersatz-/Ausb.Rgt. 5. This Pz.Gren.Ausb.Btl. 5 formed a 600 men strong Panzergrenadier-Bataillon under command of Hptm. Schmidt for taking part in the suppression of the Warsaw Uprising. After Schmidt was wounded seriosly Hauptmann Klaus von Schöning took over the command. Also known as/called Pz.Gren.Btl. von Schöning the unit was attached to Kampfgruppe Reinefarth, to Kgr. Major Reck first, to Kgr. von Rohr later. Most likely Lt. Herzer was assigned to this ad-hoc Pz.Gren.Btl.
Auch der Ritterkreuzträger Leutnant Heinz Herzer ist bei den Kämpfen um Warschau gefallen

and the original request about Pz.Gren.Btl. von Schöning with no answer

(if anyone knows more or has a confirmation, please post in the above thread, thanks!)

Thanks and regards

Hello, Freiherr,

On Page 53 is the notation mysterious2.jpg. If this has not been identified before, it is a picture of Oberst Hans Faasch.

Hope this helps.
