Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
3rd round review
Confirmations list :
page 4 : Kurt von der Chevallerie
This is totally clear in the meantime perhaps (?). I would confirm von der Chevallerie. Argument :
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 78#p420378 [page 1 of the "bake" sticky]
showing the EL ceremony 13 Feb 1944, FHQ "Wolfsschanze", Rastenburg, with Kurt von der Chevallerie, Hans Gollnick, Friedrich Wiese and Hans Schlemmer.
So, can't be Loch, if the ceremony data are correct !
Would be nice if we could have a further confirmation and/or a photo with von der Chevallerie wearing glasses !
/ Bernd

3rd round review
page 7 : Kurt-Jürgen Freiherr von Lützow
I have some doubts and have an objection here. Isn't he Genlt. Gustav Hoehne ?
reference pics for Kurt-Jürgen Freiherr von Lützow :
page 9 : Kurt-Jürgen Freiherr von Lützow
the three to the right, Yes, the left is the one in question.
reference pics for Gustav Hoehne :
Gustav Höhne , OL, GendInf
Gustav Höhne

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
It didn't take an hour and the first id is done..it's a pleasure and an honour to be your Co-Mod, Dieter, many thanks for starting the 3rd round review results !
I felt, this W-SS general has to find an id for sure. The same for another W-SS officer on page 7. So, here is a supplement :
page 7 : RK - 6003_2.jpg
small pic and not the best quality, Yes, but.. ; once I said Walter Mix maybe (because of a similar pic with the winter cap), but No, this is W-SS (Kragenspiegel and cap badge of the man to the left).

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
The page 7 picture is definitely Hoehne rather than Lützow.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Thanks John, so the Frhr Lützow pics [page 9] are OK, the one on the left, shown also as a single on [page 7] will be corrected to Gustav Höhne then.
docarchiv, re: the "Sandkasten" group,
I can confirm Mickley. Now I recall, I have seen him identified some years ago. I have stored him in my database like that at least.

Re: Knight's Cross Holders Identification
Who is the Ritterkreuzträger? Is it normal that an officer below general's rank awarded this badge?
