Are there videos of the "Day of Potsdam"

Post by Felix`` » 21 Aug 2003 17:12

Good morning,

two days ago we talked about "The Day of Potsdam" during our history lessons. Our teacher wondered if there is any video material of this day.
Most likely there will have been many tv or cinema teams making videos, but are there any surviving ones?

Best regards,

Felix``

There sure is footage on this topic, but surely not in the form of a video that you could simply buy. You must look through the different archives, i.e. where Wochenschau files are stored or in the different film-museums or political educational centers, or the distributors of footage materials for schools [-> fwu].
As you seem to speak german:
Nach schauen zb. bei den Film - und Ferseharchiven,
bei den bildungseinrichtungen der verschiedenen Parteien / Gewerkschaften
Verteribern von Material für politische Bildungsarbeit an Schulen, -> war früher z.B. die fwu mit 16mm-Material
Reichts?
Gruß

Thank you very much, I might try to look there for some video footage.

RZM Imports sells videos of authentic German footage.

Their web site is at
http://www.rzm.com/main/main.cfm
but I'm not sure that any of their videos go back to 1933.
