He was an air ace in two different wars (even though in one of them his country did not participate).

Hint: in 1991 he was promoted (honorarily) to the highest military rank, being in fact the only member of his country's Air Force that has reached such rank.

Here's something slightly diffrent.
Someone we all now by "name".
What about a picture of him 8-)
Is his face as known as his "name"?

No attempts at this for a long while...so I'll have a stab, is it Mikhail Kalashnikov? I have to say the resemblence isn't 100%!

Thanks for reviving the thread Inselaffe.

Sorry, this capitalist wasn't not much of a communist...

New clues:
He didn't serve in the armed forces during WWII.
His just as famous older brother (a question of taste  )
on the other hand did and was captured.
Here's his older brother (by just 2 years!).

OK Robb!

I'll start pre-WWII: The younger started it, the older joined later.
Together their business boomed (some say thanks to an African-american)...

WWII: As mentioned one would soldier in and one would supply the wehrmacht...

Post-WWII: Their ways and business split resulting in the birth of two post-WWII West German icons!

Too many good hints so I can't be wrong:
The younger brother is Adi Dassler. Rudolph Dassler is the older brother.

Thanks, Waleed.
This not-very-clear picture is the only known photo of a scandalous incident in a Navy. What happened?

Hint: the incident involved a nuclear-powered attack submarine and virtually ended the career of her captain.

I didn't think that nuclear submarines had "planks" to walk. Much less "ladies"???
