That's why I asked. :wink: :D

Do you or anyone also know any other members of Anti-Partisan staffs (like Brenner, von dem Bach-Zelewski)?

Von dem Bach recieved the DKiG for his work in the Anti Partisan warfare planning didn't he..?
I can't recall if he recieved the APB though, my file is not here so I will have to check, don't think he would have seen much combat though, he was more of a behind the scenes planner wasn't he..

Kocjo;
Thanks for recalling the details on vdBach, I couldn't recall his exact ranking/post, but I had seen reference to his special work in the Himmler biography by Peter Padfield. Thanks for clarifying the grade he recieved also, in my mind of the special diamonds grade was for the high ranking officers involved in this work von dem Bach would have been a candidate!

I don't think i have seen anywhere where a soldier on Anti Partisan duty would have recieved the pothsumus award of this for KIA. The badge was graded for certain number of days. Would it have been suitable..? I guess it would be in the original badge qualifications which are somewhere in a past thread I believe.

He also didn't get APB, but he probably received DKiG for his anti-partisan warfare.

Source

I guess, that this high commanders didn't get APB, but got DKiG, which was higher decoration.

Also SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Polizei Willy Tensfeld got his DKiG for
his leadership in a successful operation in Domodossola against 6,000 Italian partisans with a unit of 3,000 Germans and Italians, mid-Oct. 1944
on 15.2.'45.

I don’t know of anybody has already mentioned a photo in the excellent book To Battle by Mike Melnyk (page 224), it is of:

SS-Oscha Wittmann of 1 Kp./I Btl/Waffen-Gren Rgt 30 (14 SS Div). He is clearly wearing EK1, Infantry Assault Badge, Wound Badge (Silver or Gold) and Anti Partisan Badge. (Nov 44).

He is walking with the Ukrainian company commander and Wittmann obviously wears a cuff title, my eyes are not sharp enough to make it out though.

SS-HSF Georg Michalsen awarded APB in Bronze before 23 Jan 45. In a letter from Globocnik to von Herff on that date it is mentioned that he was SSu.PF Trieste Province and commander of a Slovenian Assault Regt, Globocnik then says that "for his courageous engagement with bandits in Istria he has received the EK2 and APB".

Michalsen was born 13 Sep 06 at Wenrin/Upper Silesia. SS- 29 337. Party (1 Nov 28) 103 613. Promoted SS-USF 9 Nov 34, SS-OSF 30 Jan 37, Ss-HSF on 30 Jan 42. awarded EK2, KVK2, APB. Sentenced to 12 years at court in Hamburg 25 Jul 74 for participation in Operation Reinhard. Died early 1990's.
