Axis Powers and Religion
I have wondered, were the Axis (Germany, Italy, Austria, etc.) ever involved in religious campaigns? I know that Hitler and his men were greatly interested in the Occult and various Judeo-Christian Relics, but did they ever mandate a "National Religion"?

Yes, I agree with Marcus.
Hitler and Nazis were not interested in religion. All this "stuff" is made by Hollywood.
Is interesting that today the called NS groups in southamerica make a strong relations between they own wrong vision of NS and the "Occultism".
This is like an aberration.
But this is theme for other forum, not a serious forum like this.

I was just wondering if the Nazis allowed the citizens and soldiers to practice their religion as they did pre-nazism, that's all. I was not inferring that they were roaming the globe looking for the eye teeth of Jesus.Helly Angel wrote:Yes, I agree with Marcus.

Sorry Herr Doktor, please don´t feel bad, disturbe or offended.
We are talking about generalities, please don´t feel angry for our answersor, we are not arrogant for your question, the forum is for that: to clear doubts and know about interesting facts that you are interested.
Sorry again.
Anyway, the nazis were really not interested in these theme. For example, Himmler named to a high officer calles Karl María a.k.a. Willigut like the official Researcher of Religion theme. I think he is the author of the book "The SS Family" that you can buy in http://www.hammer.com for example. These book offer several rituals magic-religious called Asatro.
Himmler had the intention of change the religion in the SS, reduce the Christians ideas for paganism. And I knew for the testimony of a SS man that this was motiv to secret jokes against the "Treue Heini" For the knights of the Black Order these ideas were a bad joke.
This is an example.
And please sorry again,
Helly

actually, there were SS men allowed to practice Judaism (I forget the name of the sect but it was mentioned elsewhere on this forum). I think it came from Hitler's mention in chapter 11 of Mein Kampf: "The Jew has always been a people with definite racial characteristics and never a religion."1812 wrote:Seriously I don't think it mattered what religion you were. As long as you were not Jewish that is.
