Pornography in Third Reich
Hi,
If i'm not mistaken, the only porno magazine allowed during the 3rd Reich was Julius Streicher's Der Sturmer and Hitler likes reading it...
is there any undergound sex literature during the 3rd Reich for Hitler's troops and what is the penalties for distributing porno material in the 3rd Reich

I saw a BBC documentary a few years ago about a covert British psy-op inwhich German speaking actors & actresses pretended to be German soldiers/politicians speaking over an open net and indulged in the lewdest of conversation.
The idea was to make ordinary Germans stumble on the frequency and think they were eavesdropping on a genuine booty call between a reichs minister and another reichs minister's secretary or something like that.
People would get hooked on this and naturally amongst the juicy pillow talk was all sorts of propaganda material.
Cheers from Rich

Hitler as a painter had made some pornographic drawings himselfPanzer94 wrote:I've heard that alot of Nazis were collectors of pornography, but I'm not sure if Hitler would've allowed such materials in the Reich.Of course,I've also heard that Hitler was both disgusted and attracted to sex,so who knows?
Incidentally, the attitude of the Nazi political class seems to have been more open to sex-related material than other categories of the German people. Goebbels had held a speech in 1938, criticizing harshly some people who demanded the removal of an ad which they claimed "obscene".

I do not think it is correct to label 'Der Stürmer' as a pornographic publication. Given the much stricter anti-porn laws at that time, it certainly titillated the phantasies of it's readers but in a very mild way. It's cartoons and text would not raise an eyebrow in todays world of unfettered hard-core, except of course for it's anti-semitic aspects. The pornographic label was banded about at the time of the Nuremberg trials to spice the case against Streicher but had little foundation in facts.
Actually, non of his creations (and I know what the Witch-King means) can be considered pornographic. But of course, if you consider Michaelangelo as a pornograph...1812 wrote:Have'nt seen any of those. Well they are'nt bad. But they are not great. Maybe he would have improved if he had'nt spent so much time trying to take over the world.AHLF wrote:Actually, non of his creations (and I know what the Witch-King means) can be considered pornographic. I wouldn't consider them pornographic either, no more than a Monet or Watteau painting. They don't portray anyting lacivious. Hitler was actually a very decent landscape painter, but one of the reasons he never quite made it as a artist was because his human figures always seemed rather awkward and stiff.

Correction to my above post, it was 1934, not 1938.

Goebbels criticizing Victorian prudes:
I guess our friends Dan & Brig would qualify for the Doctor's uttermost contemptDr. Joseph P. Goebbels wrote:Things have gone so far that this company of moralists does not stop at the borders of private life. They would love to establish purity committees in cities and the countryside that would keep on eye on Müller's and Schulze's love and marriage life. It is true that they do not want to go so far as in the familiar operetta as to ban kissing altogether, since it is too popular a pastime; if it were up to them, however, they would turn National Socialist Germany into a wasteland of muttering and complaining, a place where denunciation, spying and extortion were the order of the day.
These same moralists often turn to official offices with the request to ban films, plays, operas and operettas, since the dancers, stars etc., apparently represent a grave danger to public decency. If we gave in to their demands, we should soon see only old ladies and men on the screen or the stage. The theaters would be empty, since the public generally does not attend them to see the same people they see in church or old people's homes.
Save us from these hypocritical creatures who have no genuine strong conception of life, and who in reality preach no honest morality. They generally are life's losers, protesting life itself. Eternal life and its laws will hardly make way for them; at most, it will hide behind a screen of contemptible hypocrisy and dishonest prudery.
