Slaughter of soldiers of the 17.SS-Pz.Gr.Div. "GvB"

Hello,

In Helmuth Günthers book about the SS-Pz.A.A.17, in the
"Anhang section" he have a copy of the newspaper "Stadt u. Landkreise
Heilbronn" date 30. April 1985, in which several witnesses tell their story
about the last days of the war. And they tell about how US soldiers slaughtered between 30 or 60 SS-Soldiers and Wehrmacht soldiers as well after they surrendered, the US
soldiers was attached to the 63 Inf.Div.

The soldiers had to dig their own graves before they got killed
but shovels, their fingers was cut of to get better access to the rings.
Other Witnesses tell how the young (in their own word "Blutjungen Soldaten")
SS-soldiers had to kneel before they got shot in the back of the head.

After the slaughter they inhabitants of the village wanted to bury the soldiers a
US Officer stopped the act, and said that they should get moved to a other town, after they got pulled on a truck and transported to the town "Bensheim", after that I don´t know much more.
Some of the SS Soldiers survived because they played dead, and some hide in houses and under the ruf of barnes, so the witnesses does exist
In the paper even the names of the inhabitants are public.

But I wonder if some knows more about this event, and if any US soldiers had to stand trial of this slaughter??

Best regards,

Georg

Ps. I can publish a copy of the paper if anyone want to read the whole story.
