German fighter unit against 617th squadron; November 1944

Post by karaya1 » 23 May 2004 19:34

I would like to know, which German fighter unit (probably JG5, can anyone give further informations?) was in early November 1944 moved to Bardufoss, Norway to stop 617th and 9th Squadrons during their raids on Tirpitz? I have found out only that the number was about 20-30 Fw190's under command of Major Ehrler. Thanks.

In 12 November Bardufoss had 9./JG5 and elements of IV./JG5.They had c.40 planes. They were just about to receive FW-190's but i think that in 12th they still had Bf109's.
