Combat Police with Decorations
Combat Police with Decorations
Does anyone have any photos of combat policemen decorated with EKI, EKII, IAB, and/or CCC?
I have seen photos of some decorated policemen, but these seem to be, primarily, men holding awards from the First World War. Any images of policemen with World War II military/ combat awards?
Thanks.

Any Knight's Cross Winners?
Gentlemen!
I don't suppose there were any Knight's Cross winners among these combat policemen?

Do not foget that there was a whole division formed from Combat policemen. Search the forum for pics of Karl Heinrich Brenner, Otto Gieseke, Karl Schumers, etc for medal holders. Also try and get a copy of "Die guten Glaubens waren" bildband ISBN 3-921242-29-0Edward L. Hsiao wrote:Gentlemen!

Thanks again to All-Seeing Eye, and to Juha and Philmil.
Juha, in your photo, what is the shield the men are wearing below their police insignia on the sleeve?
Philmil, in your post are you referring to the SS Polizei division, or a regular Combat Police group that served on the front lines under their own banner (as it were)?

I suppose it's either the Crimean shield (Aermelschild Krim) or the Kuban shield. They were awarded respectively to the participants of the battle of Crimea or the battle of Kuban. There's more info on www.wehrmacht-awards.com.
As for the police division, there was only one, wasn't there?

theatre shields
The photo above shows recipients of the Cholm Shield and was taken from a photo layout of the award in the magazine "Die Deutsche Polizei".
SIPO with combat awards
Here is an intereting photo of a Sturmbannführer of the SIPO with nice decorations: Inf Assault Badge, Gold Wound Badge, EKI. He is missing his right arm. Photo taken in Bayreuth in early 1940s.
