The ruins reminds me of Shelley's poem, Ozymandias:
“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

Great photos, everyone! I love the 1947 photo posted by JAJACEK. Great postwar view! I guess we can see what happened to the statues of the sentries. In that image, they're apparently blown to bits on the Memorial floor!
