Heinz Heinsius
Dear Sir,
Do you anything about Heinz Heinsius and his military career. I also am interested in what awards he won during the Second World War.

Guys -
This is an "old" posting, but I just found it while skipping around on the Forum. Fl.Gr.z.b.V. 7/Fl.Geschw.z.b.V. 7 was a very secretive and complex unit that we hear very little about in the postwar literature. It was formed by the Luftwaffe in July 1942 specifically to support anti-partisan operations and was tactically subordinated to the General für Bandenbekämpfung/RFSS (Reichführer-SS). It was eventually built out to 7 Staffeln (1. - 7.) plus an Ergänzungsstaffel. The Staffeln operated more or less independently and were deployed mainly in the East, although they were also used in Poland, Slovakia and Croatia/Slovenia.
Maj.i.G. (DKG) Rudolf Jenett was the first Kommandeur, followed by Obstlt. Heinz Heinsius.

Very interesting. Now a gap is closed. Thank you very much.
