Falou,

Here is what I have regarding 614.

Flak-Battalione (mot.) 614 was established in Wehrkreis II on 5 May 1941 with three companies. It was destroyed in January 1943 in Stalingrad.

Tactical air defense was to be provided to the Army by attached Luftwaffe Flak units. The Army commanders felt that this was not an acceptable situation so it was decided to establish their own Flak battalions for tactical air defense. Twenty battalions were established [601 through 620]

The first was established in late October 1939 and the second in November 1939 [601 and 602]. Four were formed in January 1940; two in June 1940 and one in August 1940.

In 1941 nine more were formed and the final two were formed in early 1942.

Heeres Flakabwehr-Bataillon(mot) 614 was formed on 5 May 1941 and saw its first combat with the invasion of Russia on 22 June 1941. The unit was unique in that rather than mounting 2 cm Flak 38 on the SdKfz 10/1 halftrack, as did the other battalions, they mounted the 2 cm Flak 38 on the Panzer I chassis.

On 21 June 1941 they were assigned to the OKH Reserve for the invasion of Russia. At this time they had three companies in the battalion with each company having two platoons with the 2cm Flak 38 mounted on the Panzer I chassis and 1 platoon with the 2cm Flakvierling mounted on the SdKfz 7/1 halftrack.

This organization was still in force on 28 June 1942 when 614 was with the 17 Armee in Army Group South. Shirtly after the beginning of Operation Blau they were reassigned to the 6. Armee and subsequently lost in the fighting at Stalingrad in January 1943.

Here are they KStNs for the battalion from 5 May 1941 through January 1943.

Stab, Leichte-Fliegerabwehr-Bataillon (mot/Sfl)
KStN 123 dated 1.02.1941

7 motorcycles

1 Kfz 15 car

1x Signal Detachment with
7 Kfz 2 cars

1x Maintenance Detachment with

1 Kfz 2/40 car
2 Light civilian type cars
1 light civilian type truck
3 trucks-3ton

1x Bataillon train with
3 motorcycles
1 light civilian type car
2 light civilian type trucks
2 trucks-2ton
1 truck-3ton
1 Kfz 31 ambulance

3x Heeres leichte Fliegerabwehr-Kompany (mot/Sfl) each with
KStN 192 dated 1.02.1941

1x Stab with
4 motorcycles
1 Kfz 1 car
1 Kfz 15 car
1 light MG

1x Signal detachment with
2 Kfz 15 cars
4 Kfz 2 cars

2x Self-propelled Flak platoon (mono) each with
4 motorcycles
1 Kfz 15 car
1 light MG
8 2cm Flak 38 auf Panzer I
2 SdKfz 10/1 with ammunition trailer

1x Self-propelled Flak platoon (quad) with
3 motorcycles
2 Kfz 15 cars
1 light MG
2 SdKfz 7/1 halftracks without gun towing an ammo trailer
2 SdKfz 7/1 halftracks with 2cm Flakvierling mounted

1x maintenance section with

1 truck-3ton

1x Company train with
1 motorcycle
1 motorcycle with sidecar
1 Kfz 15 car
2 light civilian type trucks
2 trucks-2ton
2 trucks-3ton

614 was the only unit using the Panzer I chassis for mounting the 2 cm Flak gun.

In June 1942 there were still 17 battalions of the original 20 operating. These had 57 companies between them and the types of guns were as follows:

2cm Flakvierling auf SdKfz 7/1 was 52
2cm Flak 38 auf SdKfz 10/4 was 404
2cm Flak 38 auf Panzer I was 24
2cm Flak 38 towed was 152

By the summer of 1943 only 5 [601,604,607,615 and 619] of the original 20 6XX units still existed and two of these were soon dissolved in August 1943 [601 and 604].

The number of guns and types were:

2cm Flakvierling auf SdKfz 7/1 was 12 and at end of August was 6
2cm Flak 38 auf SdKfz 10/4 was 124 and at end of August was 40
2cm Flak 38 auf Panzer I was 0
2cm Flak 38 towed was 68 and at end of August was 68

best regards,
