I regard him as one of the finest combat soldiers of WW2, if not the finest soldier, I have several rare photos of\him and I will copy them for you. I have his full BDC file if you need details.

I believe that he received one more Pz.VernichtungsAbz but it must have been 1945 as it is not in his SS-PA.

He received his 9th wound in the Autumn (Fall) of 1943.

I have seen him listed on the net as a recipient of the Nahkampfsp.III (Gold) but have never seen any proof of this, the award would not surprise me though.

He was making a strong recovery from his 16 wound and was expected to take command of JS Tölz as he convalesced, but he suddenly became very ill (I have been told due to septic complications of so many surgical operations) and he died.

So it shows us to understand he was one of the "fighting" high ranked officer.I've not seen that 16 wounds record before in my study.

There is one SS-Officer who had more wounds than Dorr
and that is SS-Oberfhr Oskar Dirlewanger, but in his case
the wounds came from atleast 4 wars. (WWI, Turkey, Spanish
Civilwar and WWII)

Yes, Dorr was a frontline combat soldier who appears to have only spent time away from the front when recovering from the wounds he received there.

Most of his awards were won at the rank of Hstuf and below. We all know that Junkerschule graduates Ustuf/Ostuf and Hstuf did not live very long at the front due to their aggressive fighting spirit.

I believe that he was one of the best combat soldiers of WW2
